CONTINGUT
La progressiva incorporació de les noves tecnologies de comunicació i informació en tots els àmbits de la vida és un factor determinant en el canvi de concepció de la cultura. La funció de l’art està canviant i aquest canvi afecta tant les modalitats de producció, de reproducció i de consum com el concepte d’autoria i el tractament dels drets d’autor. Aquest curs vol fer una reflexió sobre les diferents interseccions entre l’art, la ciència i la tecnologia, i aproximar-se així al coneixement de les pràctiques artístiques que presenten i exemplifiquen aquests canvis. En el paisaje cultural actual conviven maneras diferentes —y a menudo contradictorias— de aproximarse y narrar la vivencia del tiempo. En dicho paisaje cobran cada vez mayor protagonismo conceptos novedosos en torno a la relación experiencia / monumento / memoria. De tales conceptos se desprenden cuestionamientos en torno a la memoria cultural los cuales desechan la idea del tiempo en tanto que secuencia reconstitutiva de un pasado lineal o en tanto que nostalgia colectiva. En este sentido, las memorias globales han dejado de ser descripciones cronológicas del tiempo y se han convertido más bien en un conjunto de temporalidades y experiencias entrecruzadas.

La (post)memoria (profundamente subjetiva, afectiva y corpórea) alude a una percepción cultural del tiempo que proyecta constantemente el pasado en el presente y ofrece miradas al pasado como si éste “perviviera” en la actualidad. Read the rest of this entry »

Arbeit 2.0 Anna Kournikova Deleted By Memeright Trusted System

Die Ausstellung im Hartware MedienKunstVerein beschäftigt sich mit dem wandelnden Begriff der Arbeit in einer postindustriellen Gesellschaft. Vom 19. Juli bis zum 19. Oktober 2008 zeigen 25 Künstler und Künstlerinnen in Dortmund, was ihnen zum Thema Urheberrecht und Kunst eingefallen ist.

Was hat der sich wandelnde Begriff der Arbeit mit „geistigem Eigentum“ zu tun? In einer postindustriellen Gesellschaft werden nicht mehr allein materielle Güter (wie Stahl, Kohle etc.) produziert, sondern zunehmend mehr immaterielle Güter. Es gibt jedoch einen signifikanten Unterschied: Immaterialgüter wie Wissen und Informationen lassen sich verlustfrei reproduzieren. Um in einer Wertschöpfungskette funktionieren zu können, müssen diese Immaterialgüter daher in ihrer Verbreitung eingeschränkt werden – und zwar mit Hilfe des Patent-, des Urheber- und des Markenschutzrechts. The focus of the workshop thereby additionally lies in the specific information and archive situation of our society. The project furthermore offers an opportunity to examine strategies of “artist practice in the Postcapital Archive”—a new public space having long been influenced by new information and communications technologies. VALENCIA.- La Sala Parpalló de Valencia inaugura este martes la exposición ‘Relecturas. Herramientas del arte’, en la que Isidoro Valcárcel Medina, actual Premio Nacional de las Artes, el autor y poeta Rogelio López Cuenca, y el net-artista Daniel G. Andújar critican la “institucionalización y oficialización” del arte y se plantean su papel en el contexto tecnológico actual.

Una exposición -compuesta por montajes de Isidoro Valcárcel, Rogelio López y Daniel Andújar, en la que se pone en cuestión la labor del artista contemporáneo y sus roles dentro del entramado artístico y de la sociedad- se puede contemplar desde hoy hasta el 30 de septiembre en la Sala Parpalló de Valencia.

La muestra ‘Herramientas del arte. Relecturas’, comisariada por Alvaro de los Angeles, que recurre a recursos informáticos, fotografías, vídeos, CD-ROMS y otras nuevas tecnologías digitales,trata de cuestionar el arte contemporáneo con la sociedad y ofrecer una nueva relectura sobre la creatividad plástica.

Así la ha descrito en una conferencia de prensa el diputado de Cultura, Salvador Enguix, al que acompañaba el comisario, Alvaro de los Angeles, los artistas Isidoro Valcárcer, Rogelio López y Daniel Andujar y la directora de la Sala, Ana de Miguel. Read the rest of this entry »

‘You can’t use it without my permission … I’m gonna sue your ass!’ shouts Disney’s Little Mermaid with the angry voice of a copyright lawyer in the video Gimme the Mermaid (4:49 min., 2000).

The video by Negativland and Tim Maloney, situated at the exhibition entrance, is only one of more than twenty works included in ‘Anna Kournikova Deleted By Memeright Trusted System: Art in the Age of Intellectual Property’, an exhibition presented by Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) It is part of Arbeit 2.0 – copyright and creative work in the digital age, one of thirteen projects in Germany funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation focusing on ‘The Future of Labour.’ In the framework of Arbeit 2.0, HMKV – together with the Berlin-based collaborative partner iRights.info/mikro e.V. – explores the relationships between creative work, intellectual property law, and technology (www.iRights.info).
