Centro de creación y producción de artes visuales y multimedia para la Trienal de Barcelona.
Daniel García Andújar desde el año 1996 desarrolla el proyecto Technologies To The People® (TTTP), a partir del que se ha desarrollado, tanto en la red como en soportes físicos (exposiciones, instalaciones, CD-ROM). TTTP se encuentra actualmente en http://irational.org, un web site o sitio web creado por el anartivista Heath Bunting, y ha sido incluido en selecciones antológicas en la red como “Some of my Favourite Websites are Art”, “Beyond Interface”, “Net_condition i Art Entertaiment Network”. Otras presentaciones físicas de este proyecto han tenido lugar en “Un-Frieden/Discord: Sabotage of Realities” (Hamburg), “Des de la imatge” (València), “Scattered Affinities” (Nova York i Madrid), “Reservate der Sehnsucht” (Dortmund), “Futurpresent” (Madrid) y en las exposiciones individuales “Interface@metronom.es” (Barcelona) y “La Sociedad Informacional” (Museo de la Universidad de Alicante). Cuatro meses de talleres y presentaciones en las que creadores nacionales e internacionales experimentan con las nuevas tecnologías y con las posibilidades de aplicación social de la creación artística. Es el programa con el que Hangar, centro de producción de artes visuales y multimedia, se ha sumado a las actividades de la trienal Barcelona Art Report. La presentación del proyecto ha coincidido con el relevo en la dirección de Hangar. Manuel Olveira (A Coruña, 1964), teórico y comisario de exposiciones que anteriormente dirigía el servicio pedagógico del Centro Galego de Arte Contemporáneo, ha sustituido a Florenci Guntín, quien concentrará sus actividades ahora en la Asociación de Artistas Visuales de Cataluña, la entidad impulsora del centro de producción. Around 20 different projects that combined new media art, social and political awareness, were presented to the public in the premises of Atelier Nord media lab at the end of March 2000. The presentation weekend was also an introduction to the workshop that was held the following week.
The weekend event was open to the public. Norway has been quite isolated from what has been going on in new media culture in other parts of Europe, and this was the first presentation of its kind in Oslo. The aim was to introduce media art concepts and practices to an audience of Norwegian artists and interested public. The event was also introducing ideas for the development of a Norwegian network of media-labs and other initiatives as well as developing further international networks and connections.
